THE IDEA OF ENERGY CONSERVATION CREATING LIFT!!!THE IDEA OF ENERGY CONSERVATION CREATING LIFT!!!
Bernoulli's Priniciple DefinedSTREAMLINING is shaping an object so that air or fluid can FLOW around it. The "FLOW" is consisting of stream lines and those lines have pressure. Bernoulli's Principle (or Bernoulli Affect) is a difficult theory to understand because it will sound backwards, but easy to create. Simply holding your thumb over the end of a garden hose to create enough water pressure to spray your friends is Bernoulli's Principle! Closing the end of the garden hose to be a small hole increases the pressure of the water, but within that water are stream lines. The Steam Lines have LOW Pressure when the water has high pressure. Sarah Friedl discusses how she did what ever kid does as she held the end of that hose to spray her sister, but says she never understood the theory behind it. "Bernoulli studied fluids in pipes and found that where the speed of a fluid increases, the internal pressure in the fluid decreases" (Friedl).
As the area gets smaller the speed gets faster. As the speed gets faster the pressure decreases. So lets thing about this for just a second.... Lets say the pressure coming down due to gravity could suddenly decrease... and the pressure under us suddenly increased greater than the pressure coming down, then theoretically speaking we could FLY! Thats right... if there was a way to increase the pressure under us, so that the pressure was greater on the bottom than on the top we would go up!
Speed = Low Pressure Slow = High Pressure Slow speed under the wing and fast speed on top = High Pressure under the wing and Low pressure on top. Greater pressure UP and Less pressure DOWN = LIFT
"Airplane wings are designed so that the air will flow faster over the top than underneath it" (Friedl). If the plane created enough speed the curve of the top of the wing would increase the speed of the flow of air.... the faster the speed the quicker the lift due to the lack of pressure on top of the wing.
